Junior League of Phoenix
Little Black Dress Initiative

Our fundraising goal is $10,000. The funds raised from this campaign will go directly to support the mission of The Junior League of Phoenix and its focus on Building a Healthy Arizona, including community programs which address the impacts of poverty such as food insecurity, obesity and access to care.

It’s day 1 of the Junior League of Phoenix Little Black Dress Initiative. After learning that 1 in 5 Arizonans live in poverty, I am wearing the same black dress all week to advocate for issues surrounding poverty.

Throughout the week of October 2, 2017 – October 6, 2017, LBDI Advocates, like myself, will wear the same little black dress for five consecutive days to illustrate the effects of poverty can have on a woman's access to resources, her confidence and professional opportunities. We are making poverty “unfashionable.” The dress is a visual representation of the lack of choice for families living in poverty.

What can I do to help?

Please consider donating to my fundraising page to help me reach my personal goal of raising $200. You can donate in your name, anonymously, or in honor of someone else. Funds will support the JLP and our mission to develop the potential of women to make a difference in our community and fight the effects of poverty with our community programs and advocacy. #diplife
